A friend did his NVFR or the big Class4 Instrument rating at YMMB in the 1970's and each of the major flying school's were allocated a night for circuits with no night circuits on a Saturday night.
He did his with Schutts who were allocated Monday night, and half the time the weather would be no good, so you would have to wait for the following Monday night.
