Isn't it about time the government lowered the tax on AVGAS? We see figures quoted by the AA that something like 80% of the cost of motor car fuel (in the UK) goes to the government in tax.
When will the UK government realise that general aviation is not just a rich man's sport and provides employment, etc. to a significant number of people.
For the amount of revenue they collect in tax from AVGAS I would have thought they could afford to slash the tax and give general aviation a welcome shot in the arm in the UK.
In summary, I don't think we should blame the oil prices so much as the penal amount of tax that we pay in the UK on AVGAS!!
