Just apply for any job you want
The very sad matter of fact is that JAR-FCL states that you must hold a valid ME/IR in order to initiate training for a typerating on multi pilot aeroplanes (MPA). However this is not a requirement for a type- og classrating on single pilot aeroplanes (SPA).
Find out what it will cost you to get the ME/IR in your JAA licence. You should get away with a simple training program and skilltest. When you know what the damage will be, you can apply for any job you want, and if the conditions in your opinion are good enough, you just spend the money for the ME/IR.
