Appogies, my above post obviously hit a nerve.
For your info, it's usually my watch or pen that set it off but they never used to. I already fill up a red box with stuff in my pockets as it is!
No-one is complaining about the airport secruity staff, you are carrying out an important role, which hopefully keeps the terroists away and everyone else, including me, in a job!
My biggest two complaints (and these are DofT issues not NCL):
1/ The lack of common systems at different UK Airports e.g. The removal or belts or shoes or both at some airports but not required at others.
2/ The need for a common issued UK airside pass or even European JAA issued. Especiallly for crews who operate from many UK airports. Those of you who have experienced difficulties with a NCL pass at other airports will understand this. There being no visible expiry date causing the biggest problem.
As for a dedicated staff channel at NCL during busy times,I don't see why that idea should sound so dreadful, most other airports manage it?
Are you prepared to give up any pay award for the next few years to pay for this?
