Max - I think you've got your wires a little crossed.

One of the LASORS criteria states that :

The requirement to have/hold a current and valid multi-engine Instrument Rating (Aeroplanes) is only a requirement for an initial MPA type rating and not subsequent type ratings.

If you already possess a Multi-Pilot Aeroplane (MPA) rating then there is no requirement for your IR to be valid when changing jobs. If you move to a different job and different aircraft type you will do a full type rating course that necessarily includes an IR.

You may have been confused by what has been said in the bmi thread by those currently in the holding pool, but this is only an issue for those straight out of training who do not hold an MPA of any sort.
