Last I heard, the AAC is not short of pilots, it may have changed.
The MoD as a whole is starting to feel the pinch with experienced pilots, but they have enough youngsters joining to more than fill the training machinery. There is no benefit in taking a non military trained pilot when who is 25+ when they can get more return out of a 18 year old.
BUT-
just when you thought it was all bad news..
the AAC TA do accept pilots with a PPL(H), so you could get a few free Gazelle hours.
