I like the story of the committee which formed to give the EFA a name. It seems that our box-head chums initially weren't too happy with continuing the 'fierce wind' precedent of 'Tornado' and were, perhaps understandably, not keen on 'Hurricane' or 'Tempest'. So they countered with 'Cyclone' - <<Ja - zis is good. Ve are liking 'Cyclone', auf Deutsch 'Zyklon'. Ve can haff 'Zyklon A' fur das Singleseater, und fur das Doppelseater, vielleicht 'Zyklon B'......??>>

When it was pointed out that 'Zyklon B' might, perhaps, limit export sales potential in places like Israel, an honourable truce was drawn and the old foes agreed that since they'd both had a 'Typhoon' or 'Taifun' in the Second World War, perhaps that would be OK for everyone........

C-17? Boeing Bloatmaster!!
