Cool

This is a fundamental thread:
- In this world there are two basic concepts concerning the training/ Licensing of Pilot
  •
    • The US one based on experience, logging a lot of hours in General Aviation or in Military one, the licensing US system is loose, because none a pilot on the right seat of a US Airliner (in a Major) will not have logged only few hours and -more- a sound University background or a sound military training is also required by those Majors.
    • the European one where the experience is replaced by a severe selection, a sound theoretical knowledge and a tough training.
  • In Europe and in US, we may consider that the two concepts arrive to a similar level of professionalism and safety.
What is cheating.... it is to promote the US system for export without requiring the University maturation and the experience and accepting low time pilot with just a FAA or similar Licence.

And yes there is also another issue: CRM, MCC... "culture" as it is named which should be treated in the ab-Initio training (And which is done in the European system for low timer pilot) so that the First Officer can intervene without complex. Europe has learnt the lesson from Teneriffe accident....
