EK has lost pilots to all of the above as well as Jet, Easy, Etihad, Korean & others returning to their old airlines. Recuitment continues with the same plus Vietnam & Air China, Kingfisher, ANA, Virgin down-under many others.

New start ups in Europe for 'open skies' and cargo will also add to the demand with a prime source of pilots coming from the ME and EK in particular.

EKs response? NOTHING, at a much greater long term cost than trying to sort the problems of pliot recruitment/retention out.

They have just sent another roadshow to the UK with the same the package as before, a package that has actually eroded by over 10% since the last time they were there! Now Colombia and anywhere else they think they can get pilots... any pilots.

Pilots leaving, not enough joining, training in disarray. It's a mess... at least Arsenal are doing well.
