Actually, we in the U.S. just aren't socialized to be expats. Even living in Europe (virtual America these days...
) seems REALLY exotic. I guess it's the fear of the unknown.
(Maybe if the U.S. had built an empire like the Brits, we'd be more comfortable with expat living.
