I personally believe that given the constant bashing of the airline industry by the green loby and the Tory party any expansion from the sector if going to be in mainland Europe. In Europe airlines can continue to expand without the fear of petty taxes been imposed in a vain attempt to prevent expansion. I cant see much scope for expansion of european routes let alone domestic routes from airports such as Newcastle.
