It's not so much that you need to be at vfl level of footy or anything like that, just maybe enjoy a kick every now and then. I simply played a bit of soccer at school and go for a surf every now and then, and got along fine with the airline. I'm not sure why they say its a requirement, i was never told, it may just be the social aspect of it.
