Getting back to the numbers. I read yesterday that the number of Australian ATPL holders with current medicals has remained static at a fraction over 6000. That puts about 3% (200) working at Emirates. The other middle eastern airlines would likely bring this figure up to 5%. SE Asia (SQ,Cathay,Brunei,ect), must have 5%. Qantas could put its hand up for 35% and other domestic carriers 30%. Not sure where the rest are but the point I am trying to make is that there cannot be too many unemployed.
