3. The Flight Path Vector on the airbus is more commonly referred to as the 'bird'. It is not a director to be followed, just an indication of the flight path the aircraft is taking.When you are in manual flight the idea is to adjust your flight path using the bird so that it is following the flight director. The flight director can be adjusted using the Flight Control Unit(FCU) or the MCDU.Hope this helps!
