AFTLs? 10th October? What have I missed?
As a based guy, they can use me for 3 ULHs per calendar month back and forth to Honkers before overtime kicks in. Sometimes, maybe 50% of the time, I get 3 trips at the end of one month followed by 2 or 3 at the beginning of the next. My 3 days off in between is cut to 2 as I commute the day before, effectively making my roster 5 on and 2 off for 6 weeks.
The cumulative fatigue on the roster is palpable. I had no idea what 5-4-3 was when I joined - I do now. Moving now to 3-man ULH under our present rostering practices would be the first real time - not the jumpy-up-and-down-hissy-fit scenario - that I would be forced to seriously consider my future with the Company.
However, I notice that the thread has a thumbs down next to it. Is this for real or someone's attempt to further stir our already poor industrial relations up? Facts please.
P.S. I understand that other airlines might do 3-man ULH. In fairness, we might do the same but not with only 2 days off in between each one.
