SASless, I too thought about the missing left front skid end. Upon closer examination I realised it is obscured by a line of rocks that are between the skid and the person who took the photo. That line of rocks is going towards the photographer but at an angle and upwards - nearly level with the footwell bubble.

Also the plethora of rock sizes make it difficult to gauge the depth of field but if you look closely, the rocks are much smaller to the right of the helicopter (behind the nose) and this leads me to suggest that the helo is some distance from the trees, hence no real sign of foliage movement.

Interesting rock formation to the right; wouldn't want to be around when those sharp tiles come down...
