Hi all just some information for all looking at working for Air NZ LHR.
Two destinations LAX and HKG each flight once a day both on 747. Both trips are 4 days long from start to finish. Allowances are HKG$2900 cash at hotel and LAX is US$319 cash at hotel.
Standby is rostered on average once every 5 to 6 months for the full roster and sometimes a couple of days may be put into a flying roster to help build the hours. When on standby it is your responsibility to be within 90min call from Heathrow. Min rest is 2 local nights between trips with min 10 rostered days off per 28 day roster these days off can be in groups of 2 or more. It is hard to give exact details. Some rosters are very bussy ones and others give a lot of days off. Same with standby sometime bussy and sometimes not even one call out.
If you have experience flying then it is like many other airlines you just have to work with it to make it work for you. There is a bidding system that sometime helps to plan your life.
I hope this helps everyone out the to make a decision but a good idea is to first read the contract before you sign.
