You will be missed ore than everyone realises John. You have set very high expectations and standards through-out the Industry. We all hope that many more Aviators reach your heights.
My logbook has 2 entries with your name in it with Pilot In Command, and they were great maintenance test flights too. My family remembers quite clearly your impact you had on them, and your regular trips to our farm near Swan Hill. My father, who you taught to fly, certainly got up to some wild flying activities, if I can mention that in an innocent way!
You were always up for a Cold One back at the bar after a days work, and always had some sort of cheeky grin going on. Your sharp wits - both on the ground & in the cockpit - were amazing .... especially being able to flick off switches and change turn fuel off without anyone seeing - just to make sure that someone was on the ball!! The funny stories I've heard!!
