Yesterday, I was introduced to a friend of Nearly Man, in fact we had a fine lunch together. This gentleman, for that is what he is, is an aviation nut! He was also in the OBSERVER CORPS in 1947. He has in his possession mint condition, unopened packets of silhouettes of German aircraft and British aircraft, these are much sought after. He also has a lot of other aviation memorbilia including very old copies of aviation mags.
He has invited me to his home to discuss these 'treasures' and will donate all of them to the fund for auction. Some are very valuable indeed. THIS..............after he has already agreed to print 1000 copies of the TSR2 for free. It is 360 of these that will be signed by Roland 'Bee' Beamont. We reckon the signed versions should go for around £75 each with a special price for numbers 100/200 and 300. The unsigned version will be around £15.
I tell you! This fund means something to a lot of people when they hear about it. And even he wants to put something back. He is also a magistrate, which will no doubt please JP Justice. We'll have two on PPRuNe then (if we don't already have others too modest to say so).
There will be yet more good news to-morrow!!!
