I was in roughly your situation a while back. I'd failed the interview (only 2 stages back then) and needed to kill some time before re-applying
I took a job answering the phones at Bristol Airport just to be around the right atmosphere and it made visiting the tower much easier. I also learnt all the aircraft info on the motivation paper, read this forum every day - just anything to keep your brain active and focused on ATC.
May be a good idea to get some aptitude testing books to keep your mental ability up. Depends on what you struggled with at stage 1 really.
