B737NG FIRST OFFICERS: BRIEFING DOCUMENT AIR INDIA EXPRESS
Contract term: 3 years, renewable.
Days off: 15 consecutive days off every 2 calendar month period (January and February, March
and April, May and June and so on) with tickets provided to your nominated Base
Residence for days off (that is, 6 return tickets per year).
Block hours: 160 hours in a 2 calendar month period, with overtime payable at 1/80th of the monthly
fee per hour thereafter.
Accommodation: Excellent hotel accommodation (with breakfast) is provided in all locations except at your
Base Residence.
Ground transport: Provided, or your costs are reimbursed or an allowance paid.
Travel: Confirmed Economy class tickets upgradeable to Business class (subject to availability)
from and to the Air India online station closest to your Home Residence, at
commencement and termination of your assignment.
Good travel benefits are available 1 free ticket per annum (economy, upgradeable to
Business Class), 1 ID75 ticket per annum (subject to load) and unlimited ID50 tickets on
confirmed basis. Air India will endeavour to facilitate unlimited ZED and interline
ticketing.
Medical: Rishworth Aviation will provide your with expatriate medical and repatriation insurance.
Tax: Crew Members own responsibility. We encourage you to seek taxation advice.
Maximum age: 63 years, assuming that your home country license allows you to fly up to 65 years.
Training: There will be approximately 10 days (maximum 4 weeks) training in Mumbai at contract
commencement, and you will be provided with accommodation, medical insurance,
ground transport allowance and a payment of US$50 per day. Upon successful
completion of training, full payment will be made for the training period, less the US$50
already paid.
Base: Your Base Residence is the Air India online station closest to your home. This is not
necessarily an operating base for you it is the location to which you are provided with
tickets for your 15 days off every 2 months (you are responsible for the cost of getting
home from Base Residence if you live somewhere that is not on the Air India network, but ZED tickets can be used). To check where Air India online stations are located,

Upgrades: At present there is no formal upgrade programme in place, as the Indian DGCA does not
allow for foreign First Officers to be upgraded however we anticipate that this will
change in the near future, and opportunities for upgrade may arise.
Monthly payment: US$2,500 per month (100-499 hours on type*)
US$4,400 per month (500 hours or more on type)
*First Officers with less than 500 hours experience on type must also have 500 hours multi engine time and 1,000 hours total time to be eligible.
PLUS
Retention bonus: after 1 year of assignment: US$5,000
after 2 years of assignment: US$6,000
after 3 years of assignment: US$9,000
Notes:
There are no per diems payable on this assignment.
You must have flown on type within the last 12 months.
If you have not flown on the aircraft within 6 months of assignment commencement you will need to complete re-
currency training arranged by Air India, with simulator costs being at your own expense.
Foreign pilots operating in India are issued with a validation of their home country license, so you must be able
to keep your home country license current for the term of your assignment in India.
All overseas screening costs are paid by Air India air tickets, ground transport, and accommodation are all
arranged and paid by the Airline, and a per diem of US$50 per screening day is claimable once assignment has
been commenced.
