LongChop I am afraid that I find your moaning unacceptable.
Firstly you once had 200hours and were looking for your first job. Would you not have accepted any job , jet or TP at the time.
You equally could have gone to CDG flying a TP. I suspect that most ops depts will keep new pilots away from there until more experience.
You had the choice of which jobs to accept. You did not have to accept your Dash 8 job.
You had and still have the choice of paying for a type rating if you want.
Do not be critical of others for choosing a different route to you. Every job is just as competitive to get. I am sure that everybody would choose not to pay for a TR given the choice, they would happily fly a TP and work upwards.
But job markets change and if you want a job you have to do whatever it takes tosecure that job.(TP airlnes still ask for pilots with a TR)
I do not believe that low houred pilots that have a TR with no hours on type are getting put before you. Most airlines look for experience and have schemes in place to bond you for the course or pay for you.
Unfortunately, it is the way it is....get on with it!
I have flown both a jet and a TP and I enjoyed the TP experience more, so why do you want a jet job, is it the money????
