As airlines cut costs, low fares mean corners cut-its simple, budget airlines keep costs to a bare minimum meaning ground handling, security etc. are all barely profitable.If you dont pay decent wages, sickpay and paid holiday you don't get loyal motivated employees.
Im afraid that this is a consiquence of all of us wanting ultra low air fares. The share holders don't take a lower dividends so guess where the savings have to be made?
It would be interesting to see how much Continental Airlines paid for this security service as there fares ex BHX are very high???
