At the moment we're getting about eight days a month off. That's eight days at home in a whole month! The rest is spent in crew rooms and hotels with a bit of flying in between.
Typically , I'm doing five on two off, sometimes seven on three off and I've had more than one pattern that consisted of seven on one off and then six on!
It should compare favorably with other airlines for time off, but not the way they are working it at the moment.
On your two days off at home you will be shattered from the duty during the week and just about the time you get sorted, you're back at work again.
They are looking at improving the roster, but they have been making promises about that for years now and no solution in sight.
They'll tell you at the interview that it works out to about even days off and on but that simply isn't true.
the vast numbers leaving at the moment (five this week) aren't improving the roster situation either.
