Just been looking at latest provisional CAA passenger stats, and the figures for the new Jet 2 service to LGW dont look to good.
Bearing in mind that they have cancelled the AMS service that generated an extra 12000 extra pax on the route in March when compared to the previous year when it was only opperated by KL ( thats making an assumption that all the extra pax went with Jet 2) In April the figure was 7000 extra.
The LGW figures for April 2007 when Jet 2 flew the route was just 6668 compared to April 2006 when B A had 17389 pax a reduction of 62%
I think that gives Jet 2 an average load of about 45 pax per flight !
The timing changes coming into force shortly I dont think will help as there will be just one early return service in the morning, with two in each direction in the afternoon/ evening. Of course there are no interline connections on the route now.
Will they continue to opperate this service if the loads dont pick up ??
