I think that you are all missing the point. All these displays are entertainment and our sad lives would be poorer for their loss. As a civillian for the last thirty years, I adore to watch them all. I also know how much pleasure they give where ever they display. Go to Eastbourne this year and watch the crowds. They are entranced.
