As far as I know they are going to train local pilots by next year< but dont know what how selection will be made.

Well as for srilankan the contract with emirates is still under negotiation ending next year March.If they extend the contract for 10 years they are planning to replace the current fleet of 330/340 with 350/787 & 346/777 after 2012. (2012 since the orders are not made yet and uncertian of the future of contract)
Sad thing for us as pilots is the that srilankans expansions are limited because of uncertainty and limits cadet pilots intake.
