Bleeds,

It would appear that the company want to continue to expand its network to further southern and more eastern med destinations.
They are also attempting to modernize the long haul aircraft fleet with the introduction of the 787.
The main difficulty they are going to have to face up to is pilot retention, not a shortage of available airframes.
Essentially for the likes of yourself, MON may well be an employer worth getting in with for a couple of years, as its stands, you could be the companies most experienced F/O in a couple of years time.
Our new MD has stated emphatically that he has been able to recruit 60 of the highest quality candidates for our expansion, he has neglected to say that in that time he has lost 13 high quality experienced pilots, and that at present there is anecdotal evidence to suggest at LEAST an equal number are working their notice, with many more awaiting "yes" letters or the outcome of the current pay round to decide on their future path.
Monarch is not the employer it once was, it is a great place to get 1500hrs of jet time under your belt before you head off to more lucrative and employee orientated companies.
