i just left bne base. wasnt there too long, but generally:
I made myself available 25 days a month
I would usually get rostered between 130 and 140hours.
I would usually finish the month between 140 and 160 hours.
Even in the traditionally quiet months, this was no problem.
I would tend to get 2-4 regional trips per month, as a non-language speaker, and usually 1 trip to nz a month.
The rest of the roster was usually perth or darwin or cairns overnights. I'd usually only get one or two day trips (usually isa, syd, or mel rtn).
A couple of the rosters, i did not have a single day trip.
Others i know work it their own way with trip swaps - and manage to mainly do day trips.
Take home pay per fortnight. I did not take home less than $1900, the most was $3000 in the fortnight. Usually arournd $2300-$2500.
I sold a fair bit of duty free, (every trip hehe), so the commission boosted my pay about $200 a month... managed to get in the top sellers for the quarter too, so got a nice $800 bonus just before i left.
