Thanks alot for telling me your story. Very nice to know that papers, experience, skills and personality is what the airliners look for when hireing pilots. Thats the way is should be.

I know I can make more money in other professions. At the moment I work in IT industry, and have Computer Science education. But everytime I see a plane or pilots I become like a little child My plan was to become airline pilot when I was in high school, but plans changed. I think it is more important to do something you like for living, than go after the money.

Yes, I wrote europe in the title, since I live in europe. But information about the big companies in the gulf, like emirates, gulf ait, qatar air, etihad, etc is also interesting. So is also airliners in north america.
The reason I asked is because I have not seen many non white pilots working for airliners in these countries. But the responses from the forum members says I am wrong, and if I become a pilot one day, color is not a problem.
