Filipinos working overseas
Hi Guys,
I have been away from the Philippines for around 20 years now ( on and off ) and I have definitely been out of touch with the situation back home.
Just wanting to ask what POEA's role is in giving OFWs permission to work overseas.
If a pilot from PAL or any other airline for that matter wanted to work abroad and was given a working visa or permanent residency by a foreign country and a job offer by a company, how does POEA fit into all of this ? Do they have any right to refuse departure to any OFWs or pilots specifically at the gate ?
I've heard domestic helpers being refused departure by POEA and I just wanted to ask if they can do the same thing to pilots or any other workers.
Just trying to help someone.
Cheers
