Lowerlobe, in my previous life of thirty three years of aviating with Asian (including Thai) cabin crew, there was one serious accident where they proved their mettle.
Shortly before V1, the nose gear thread separated, causing severe vibration. The crew aborted the take-off, but the CV-880 overran the runway and ended up in the sea and broke in three pieces.
Out of 127 pax, one woman died of a heart attack, the rest were evacuated and rescued without injuries. This totally unexpected accident happened without any warning or preparation. The Asian cabin crew of varying origins acted in a most professional manner. None of them could claim English to be their first language. I guess it comes down to training.
