You will need experience in whatever aircraft maintenance field you choose before being awarded a 'License'. The easy way is to get a break in aircraft maintenance contracting but again you need some experience!! Its always difficult to start but you seem to have a good idea of where you want to go. As for the costs to gaining a JAR License they are considerable and you must also gain the relevant time in the area of work you wish to enter into. So contracting could be one path to take.
