I am quite surprised that the planned move to the North Terminal was not common knowledge .The rumour with different dates for summer 2007 has been doing the rounds for ages . Main reason is to free up space in the overcrowded South Terminal at peak times . BAA are confident that with British Airways adding more self check in machines in the North this will eventually leave a whole Zone for Continental over there
This is already causeing major arguments in the South Terminal with the other smaller scheduled airlines and Virgin Nigeria all making a claim for Zone B once Continental move
There are still major issues to be resolved most of which involve the stand planning side at peak times at the North but someones obviously done the mathmatics and it fits !!!!
Sounds like a usual BAA Gatwick disaster waiting to happen !!!!
