i agree that he should have been very careful and discreet in doing things, but he was soooo pi$$ed off at the management that he wasnt thinking clearly. its more of an emotional thing for him. he wasnt happy long before he left.
they think that way because they are protecting their retirement. if they lose too much pilots, the aircrafts will be grounded, then it will be a problem. to solve this, they must give a better package. but in doing so, it will cost the company a lot of money, again they will look bad. they might retire being line pilots, not at their present posts that they are willing to trade the whole world for.
another point to look at, the retirement age is now extended to 65yrs old. that gives them additional 5 years on their posts, 5 more years of slavery for the pilots.
