Prior to the predictable thread drift, to answer one of your questions, I'd suggest doing your CPL and then heading off to PNG or Africa, it'll have its moments, but they'll be great fodder for those long haul sectors later on. Come back to NZ if you wish with 1500-2000hrs and take a regional. Or not.
