Cargorat2 - I don't think it was meant as a compaint, (thus, no sympathy necessary) but more to to show, what the reality is like.
To live in LUX, go to work every day, and being able to engage in family matters after work is a slightly different scenario, than being away for 16-20 days/month, leaving the family in a place they just happen not to like that much.
Some initially move their families to LUX and learn, that LUX is not the place for them. There is nothing wrong with that, is there ???
Commuting then becomes a compromise between work and family life (..and they sweat montly, to see whether their 9 days off in a block have been granted).
Overall not an easy situation, as Crew Schedulers generally try very hard to accomodate everybody..., but it is obviously not possible to grant everybody's wishes. A good bidding system would certainly help, though.
I think , CLX is a great place to work for as pilot if your family likes LUX. If not, you may sooner or later have to make the tough decision: Job or Family.
