If you plan to build an RV-9A in the UK budget on spending £40k. This will get you a slow build kit, a new O-320 lycoming and a minimal/avionics instrument fit. It will also cover tools, shipping charges and the dreaded VAT
(who says aviation isn't taxed).
If you are prepared to do your own paintwork you might shave £2k off the above figure.
