Sorry Gertrude, but this attitude really annoys me. It just perpetuates the whole aviation rip-off mentality that continues to exist. It also perpetuates the myth that all who fly for fun must be super-rich.

Its an Aviation medical, lets charge an extra £60...
Its an Aviation GPS, lets charge an extra £200, oh, better yet we'll double the price...
Its an Aviation stopwatch, lets charge an extra £10...
Its an Aviation screw/bolt/nut/rivet lets charge £1.99 EACH....

There are enough people out there trying to rip us off and curtail our activities with stupid rules, without us actually helping them with our own attitudes. Personally I try to get "Value for money" in everything I purchase, including flying, and that does not necessarily mean the cheapest either.
