Indeed - wives can work on Dependent Visas. That wasn't my point. My point was that the OP refers to his "partner". If he and his "partner" are not legally married then she isn't going to get a Dependent Visa, so she would need to get some other form of visa in her own right in order to take up residence in Hong Kong. (It could be an Education Visa, for example - it doesn't have to be an Enployment Visa.)
