Pilots in the domestic run including those in the A330 fly about 25 days in a month. The scheduling department & the chief pilots have an order from above to effect the 6 days work & 1 day off just like what the ground personnel do.

Pilots in the B744 get more days off.

So why was the increase not incorporated into the basic salary? This would have changed the whole ball game.

Some pilots outside work only 8 months to 9 months a year & get paid for the whole year.

India is now offering 45 days on, 45 days off!!!

My advise to pilots in PAL is to take it easy & do not push too hard.

But we are getting somewhere here.

And these changes were only effected when people leave. PAL is in such shortage of pilots that they are training wide body airbus pilots to fly the narrow body A320.
