KBF1, I can't believe you were 'seriously hacked off'??!! I take it as a 'present from heaven' if I manage to get up front for landings (haven't tried for take off yet).
My most recent 'failure' was on a 737 (don't often get on them, more often 146's) and all was going swimmingly until we tried to pull out the jumpseat. Nothing I could do would get it to unlock, nor could the FO get it to come out. They were most apologetic, but I fully understood and went back to my seat.
I certainly didn't get all upset about it (and yes, I have been forgotten by FA's after getting the 'yes' from the Captain), nor did I consider writing to complain as some others have suggested. Geez
On my next flight (albeit a 146), we couldn't get the seatbelts to retract properly and they got one of the FA's to virtually dismantle the seat for me to get it working

They wouldn't take "don't worry" for an answer!
It's not the end of the world, is it?
Cheers,
