I ran into an SQ 777-300 crew in Asia a couple of years ago. The captain claimed that he made less than USD$100,000 a year and that it was taxed.
For comparison, FedEx has a tentative agreement up for a vote right now. The initial A-380 pay rate for a 15 year captain is $247.76 a credit hour plus $9.00 an hour international override. This goes up to $262.84 three years after the contract is signed. Under some circumstances A-380 captains will get 150% of this rate, FedEx still has some old style work rules left.
Sounds like the SQ pilots will be lucky to get half of what FedEx is offering...
