ps. In 20 years I've never had any trouble getting a wing down.
I have! Not a very comfortable situation. Admmitedly not on the Dash, but it's still at the back of my mind each time I go flying.
It's just as easy to land without flaps as it is to land with them.
If you fly at the right speed and you've got a long enough runway. Similarly the gear has alternate extension system(s)
