I was apprentice at BAC Hurn at the time - 69 to 73.
Aircraft was D-ANDY and became G-AZED. I think it was Dan-Air's first 1-11.
It arrived at Hurn inside the CL44-0 Guppy N447T late 71 or early 72. I have some photo's somewhere.
Nose landing gear was in fwd. belly hold following runway overrun. I think accident was at Genoa but I might be wrong.
The story was that new F/O closed throttles at about V1 when Capt. said Hold the Throttles. Not a very good way to start your career.
I'm not sure if this is what happened but makes a good story.
