It's not as easy as saying things aren't going so well here so it's time to leave. It is a fact that it is far more difficult to leave than it is to come here in the first place.

Previous posters who have complained have indeed left and there are others to come...

As far as EK is concerned: Yes this place suits some people. I've flown with many Malaysians and, more recently, Brazilians and Bolivians that are happy enough. It is not suprising talking to them that the EK package is better than where they came from. If you came from a 737 and are given a DEC on a 777 with no route experince, well they're happy enough too. Of course there are many others content enough to stay or unable to leave.

On the other hand europeans/australasians as an example (who have been here longer and have much more experience of the ways EK), have seen the terms and conditions slide to levels where it is indeed time to move on. Make no mistake about it they ARE moving on. EK have lost more pilots over the past couple of years than at any time in their history (even taking into account natural attrition rates like retirements or sickness). There are more than enough posts on this and other forums to know the reasons why.

Don't get me wrong either 22, I am not happy and I am moving on. It just takes time to get out and to find the right job not just for me but also my family. The market is only just really picking up but there are jobs and more to come.

EK has a great many skilled and experienced pilots looking to fill new jobs away from EK and the ME.

Don't be naive 22, the hypocrites you mention are leaving.
