I was referring to the way in which people are trained oversea's compared to the methods employed by SIAEC. When I did my apprenticeship it was a 5 year course of which I spent about 6 months on courses. compare that with the SIAEC apprenticeship of nearly 4 years and only 6 months on aircraft. There is a big difference in the practical knowlege of LAE with extensive hands on experience compared to an LAE with virtually no practical experience.
From my years with SIA in your first 8 years it would be very unlikely that you would get to do any training overseas. This training usually goes to LAE's with more time in the company and a willingness to sign another bond for the training.
