Don't care if it IS a charity, and DOES do a lot of good work. So does the RFDS!
Calm down Chief, Admin is a full time 9-5(+) job and Larry is a top operator who keeps the show on the road. Without the office guys, the pilots, who give up 1/2 - 1 day of their time WHEN THEY FEEL LIKE IT wouldn't have the opportunity to be involved in some really rewarding flying.
Yes, the pilots provide the plane but it's a cheap flight - no airspace/terminal/landing fees (usually) and a fuel credit for the value of the fuel used. Win - win for everyone if you ask me (the pilots tend to be PPL who would otherwise pay for everything on a far less rewarding trip).
Show me any charity that doesn't have paid staff somewhere?
