There are several thousand ex-service pilots flying for the airlines, so it can hardly be seen as an unrealistic prospect. However, Virgin would not be any kind of a prospect with those hours, but British Airways might. I'm not sure if they still run the transition scheme for military pilots; try your Station Education Centre for more information, or contact BA directly.

There is a great deal of information about the BA Direct Entry Pilot DEP scheme in Terms and Endearments: see here among others. T&E is really where you should be concentrating your efforts; you do not fit the profile of a 'wannabe' as defined by Pprune - see the sticky post at the top of this forum.
