Heli Malongo is Chevron and Sonangol or Sonair so they have hardly "snatched" the contract from PHI, they have decided to do it themselves due to the compulsory requirement to have a JV with Sonair to be working offshore helicopters where Sonangol is a partner of the Oil Company.
Do you think that Oil companies would would really have Sonair working for them at their rates if there was a genuine choice? CHC and Heli Union only contract through Sonair to oil companies because Sonair effectively has a monopoly due to being the "government" owned company. That's what you have to do to do business in Angola.
